The Living Story of the Everett Beauregard Foundation
Where paths cross, possibilities are fostered and futures take shape.

Chapter 5: Where we belong
We are not the afterschool program. We are not the library. We are not the camp.
We exist in the space in between - helping those doing the good work connect, grow and respond. We have learned that our role is not building something ourselves, but to give strength and resources to the people doing the work. In a conversation we had with one of our partners this week we found out that they have had a difficult funding year. Our grant will fill in that gap. This is how we respond to our partner’s specific needs.
And this is where we belong – wherever people are creating opportunities for young people to feel safe, connected and valued.

The Aggregate Story
When we started the Everett Beauregard Foundation, we spent a lot of time asking what we should do. Over time, a different question emerged: Where do we belong?
The answer:
Beside librarians creating welcoming spaces.
Beside camp staff helping children try something new.
Beside neighbors investing in young people
We have come to believe that we belong wherever people are building the kinds of spaces every young person deserves: places of safety, possibility, and connection.

The Story behind the story.
Everett taught us something we carry into this work every day: people flourish when they know they belong. Every grant we make, every partnership we build, and every opportunity we support is rooted in that belief.
Our role is not to do the work alone. Our role is to strengthen the places where belonging already exists and help create it where it is needed most.
We belong where belonging is being built.
