Chapter 1 : Why we started the Everett Beauregard Foundation

We started the Everett Beauregard Foundation for two reasons. First, Everett's life was so much more than the crime that took him from us. We wanted his legacy to be defined by the way he lived, the people he cared about, and the impact he had on those around him.

Second, we could not stop asking a difficult question: What led someone to make the choice that changed so many lives forever? Understanding that question is essential if we hope to prevent similar tragedies and create better paths for young people.

Today, as the Foundation enters its third year, we continue to evolve. While we remain committed to honoring Everett's memory and creating opportunities for underserved youth, we are equally focused on carrying forward the values that defined him: curiosity, inclusion, and fairness. We believe these values have the power to bring people together, create a sense of belonging, and help young people see possibilities for themselves and for one another.

The Story behind the story.

We are guided by Everett’s values when selecting the organizations to support. We chose to partner with Unity in the Community because of the meaningful opportunities they provide their students, including participation stipends and transformative travel experiences. Everett was passionate about economic equity and believed that personal growth comes from exposure to new experiences, making this partnership a natural reflection of his values.
