About Everett Beauregard

Our organization is in honor of our extraordinary son, brother and friend, Everett Peter Mason Beauregard. Everett is remembered for the amazing person he was and for the potential he had to give back to the city that he loved.

Everett’s loss has been devastating to everyone who knew him. He is missed for the unexpected nature of his personality. Ev could engage in informed debates on any topic with friends, family or others interested in his ideas and viewpoints.

It’s Friend Friday, and today we’re highlighting Unity in the Community!
At EBF, stewardship isn’t just about managing resources responsibly—it’s about honoring the trust our donors place in us by investing in people who create real, daily impact.
The numbers in this post tell that story.
In 2025, turnout for open interviews across the three academies—carpentry, automotive, and cosmetology—was overwhelming but they got them done!
That’s what extending possibilities looks like.
When we steward resources toward work like this, real change happens in real lives.

It’s Friend Friday!
In the Cohen Family Civic Dialogue Arena at the Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center, PYB created a space where youth, families, and community leaders could learn from one another in powerful, honest dialogue.
This is exactly the kind of impact EBF is proud to support—places where young people feel seen, heard, and connected.
The Community Quest in Malvern will help fuel even more opportunities like this across Philadelphia.

We are proud to support Philadelphia Youth Basketball, and in particular, their Civic Dialogue Arena. PYB recently hosted the event “International Journey Beyond the Court,” a discussion about how basketball can serve as a powerful environment for developing perspective, resilience, and long-term skills when paired with intentional mentorship.

The panel, which was moderated by PYB CEO and Co-Founder Kenny Holdsman and featured PYB Board Chair Brooke Queenan and Financial Advisor Jake Cohen, brought together parents, young people, board members, and community leaders.

Here at the Everett Beauregard Foundation, we are committed to open dialogue, intergenerational friendship and mentorship, and the power of bringing people together, qualities that events at the Civic Dialogue Arena embody.

The Everett Beauregard Foundation is proud to have made a $5,000 donation for our partner @Philadelphia Youth Basketball's Civic Dialogue Arena. This part of PYB's Sixth Man Center caught our attention from the start as we saw it to be a tangible representation of the world that Everett shined in - that of debate, dialogue, and humor, embodied by its openness and semicircle of wooden seats.

PYB informed us that approximately 210 hours have been spent in the Civic Dialogue Arena, where youth and speakers alike engaged in conversations surrounding leadership development and social-emotional learning. The Civic Dialogue Arena has hosted 30 community events, including panel discussions, meet and greets, parties, and empowerment classes, all with an average attendance of over 60 people.

At the Everett Beauregard Foundation it is our mission to create promising pathways for underserved youth - a path forward built on prevention, intervention, relationships and resources.

Think of it like hiking with a friend (or sibling!). The journey isn’t always easy, but having someone beside you - someone who knows the terrain, who can point out trail markers, who walks with you when the path gets steep - makes all the difference.

That’s what third spaces offer - a place where young people find both support and direction. Sometimes all one needs is a safe place to foster a passage forward.

As the weather gets colder, the idea of hibernating with a good book becomes all the more enticing.

Everett loved books. In addition to reading at home, his favorite title was a comfort on camping trips and any current novel passed the time on the way to sports practice.

When he traveled with his family, libraries were always a destination.

Ev found promise of discovery and inspiration in the libraries that he visited.

Today we remember Everett — brilliant, funny, passionate — who made a difference to those he loved and whose legacy we honor in our work.

Though his story was devastatingly interrupted, the spirit of connection he embodied lives on.

If he’s on your mind today, take a moment to connect — with someone, with a memory, or just with yourself. That’s how his light keeps going.

Though it is never easy to mark another year without Everett, we are deeply thankful to the friends, family and community who came out to honor his memory in the neighborhood where he once walked. Each message on the luminaries added warmth, light and meaning to the evening and served as a reminder that remembrance will guide us forward.

In Everett’s spirit, our 3rd Annual end of summer BBQ brought together friends and neighbors for an evening of connection and community.
What started as a simple gathering has grown into a tradition that reflects Everett’s gift for uniting people.

This year was another meaningful and successful event — thank you to everyone who came out and made it special.

All are welcome to join us Sunday, September 21st at dusk as we light a path in remembrance of Everett’s life. Each candle placed on 35th Street is in remembrance. His life, reflected in light.

Additionally, there will be a window display tribute created by Artist John Schlesinger that will be visible from the luminary walk.

This is what community looks like!

It’s been about a week since our Dek Hockey Tournament, which occurred in Athol, Massachusetts from September 5th to 6th. The Tournament included 100 players, 16 games, 14 volunteers, 10 teams, and 4 referees and culminated in two teams being named co-champions due to a wild rainstorm (rainstorms becoming a through line at EBF events!).

Additionally, we wanted to thank Debbie and Kevin Robillard for helping put together this fantastic event.

Back to school means new beginnings!

As we think about Everett’s role as a brother, we think about what a mentor and hero he was to Ashleigh. At the Everett Beauregard Foundation, we are proud to support safe, inspiring third spaces where Philly youth can thrive in mentorship and community.

Day two went extremely well, and the games were really competitive, even the last one cut short by a torrential downpour - at least the weather held on for all the other games. Lots of fun, prizes and food! Thank you to everyone that organized this event and all those that attended. Your support means the world to us and our mission.

One of the Everett Beauregard Foundation’s partners, Philadelphia Youth Basketball (@phillyyouthbasketball), with whom Everett volunteered, is hosting a Beers & Buckets event on Sunday, August 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Alan Horowitz “Sixth Man” Center.

Please consider attending as PYB is an organization that has served over 1,640 unique young people through a diverse range of basketball and non-basketball programs.

We are grateful to our supporters for contributing to our International Day of Friendship: Together for Good fundraiser. Not only did we meet our goal, but we actually exceeded it! Our shared support helps our Philadelphia partners think bigger—growing programs, taking bold steps, and making lasting change. Thanks for being a part of it!

Additionally, to provide you with some insight into our fundraising journey, this was the Foundation’s first time running a campaign on the Givebutter platform, which we are excited to use in the future.

It was our honor to meet with David W. Brown, Executive Director of the Civic Coalition to Save Lives, several weeks ago. During our discussion, we learned more about the concept of “early intervention” in mitigating gun violence. “Since intervention focuses on those individuals who are most likely to shoot or be shot, early intervention begins long before that tragic action ever occurs,” David explained.

It is the Everett Beauregard Foundation’s wish to engage with organizations that focus on early intervention by providing aggregate donations to our partners, which enables them to take on more ambitious projects, expand programs, and make more strategic investments than with smaller dispersed donations.

On Tuesday, July 8th, The Everett Beauregard Foundation met for its annual in-person meeting at Philadelphia Youth Basketball’s (@phillyyouthbasketball) beautiful new facility.

In addition to discussing exciting future events and fundraisers, we were joined by Anton Moore (@antonmoore14) of Unity in the Community (@unityinthecommunity), one of EBF’s partners.

Anton was, as always, an invigorating and inspiring speaker, who discussed Unity in the Community’s goals of providing at-risk youth with valuable career and life skills, the ability to travel, and financial acumen, all of which are aligned with Everett’s values and the EBF mission.

While we usually highlight Everett’s affinity for birds, we wanted to devote this post to his beloved cat, a now 7-year old rescue named Giannis (named after Giannis Antetokounmpo @giannis_an34 of the Milwaukee Bucks @bucks).

Giannis was likely born a stray who was taken to ACCT Philly (@acctphilly) and adopted by Everett in 2019. Though Everett had initially wanted to take his childhood cat, Shadow, with him to college, he quickly fell for Giannis, who has been described by his current owner, Everett’s friend Rachel, as “the friendliest cat ever.”

Giannis took on Everett’s spirit of extroversion and is known for being outgoing, welcoming, and always curious. We are grateful to Rachel, who graciously took Giannis in, where he now lives alongside Rachel’s other cat, Jax.

To honor Everett this June, we wanted to share photos of him, from childhood through college, enjoying the beach.

When he was young, Everett and his family would visit Stone Harbor and he and his sister would always make friends, playing in the sand as though the beach was just a giant playground. In college, Everett’s love for both the beach and spending time with friends flourished with several beach trips, including a beach day in Asbury Park and a spring break trip to Florida.

It is our hope that with Everett in mind, you make time to spend with friends by the water this summer.

This year, we gathered on June 6th, 2025, to experience Penn Live Arts’ (@pennlivearts) Toll The Bell, a city-wide sound installation which aimed to bring awareness to the gun violence epidemic. It has been our honor to represent The Everett Beauregard Foundation at this event year over year, and we want to express our deep gratitude to both Penn Live Arts and Wear Orange for offering such meaningful experiences this weekend. #wearorange
